First Bird Festival in ChhattisgarhFirst Bird Festival of Chhattisgarh, District- Bemetara: The first bird festival of Chhattisgarh will be organized in the villages of Gidhwa and Parsada, which give shelter to birds of different species of the country and the world. It will run for three days from 31 January to 2 February. This will be organized in these villages falling in the Forest Department Durg Division and Bemetara district. Its preparation is being done by the Forest Department. Birds play an important role in biodiversity and environmental protection. Gidhwa has a unique world of 150 types of birds. In view of development of eco-tourism and local employment, Gidhwa-Parasada is being organized.

 

Migratory birds arriving from Europe, Mongolia, Burma and Bangladesh in October every year
Apart from the old pond spread over 100 acres, Parasada also has a 125-acre water reservoir. This area is considered an undeclared sanctuary of migratory birds. With the knock of winter, they reach here from Europe, Mongolia, Burma and Bangladesh between October and March. Reservoir fishes, village moist lands and biodiversity attract them.
